Poll: Delta wants change, Kruger leads tight race
DELTA, BC - A new public opinion poll released today reveals a strong appetite for political change in Delta, positioning One Delta’s Dylan Kruger as the sole candidate capable of defeating the incumbent.
A poll conducted by Yorkville Strategies, the firm credited with correctly predicting Christy Clark’s surprising victory in the 2013 B.C. provincial election, found that 61 per cent of respondents believe it is time for a change at City Hall. The poll also indicates that Dylan Kruger is the only candidate with a viable path to defeating George Harvie.
“This reflects what we’re hearing from residents: it’s time for new leadership that is focused on leading the change that is coming and that people want,” says One Delta party president Bruce McDonald, a long-time Delta councillor. “And it is also very clear that only Dylan Kruger and the One Delta team can provide the change.”
According to the poll, voter support breaks down as follows:
• Dylan Kruger: 30%,
• George Harvie: 28%
• Melissa Granum: 17%
McDonald emphasizes that despite the encouraging numbers, the party is taking nothing for granted. “This race is neck-and-neck and every vote matters. Dylan Kruger and the One Delta team are going to keep fighting to earn the support of residents right up until election day,” he says.
One Delta is laying out an ambitious and realistic plan that focuses on getting the basics right, keeping life affordable and planning for the growth that is coming to Delta.
“Voters are going to have a clear choice between slogans and studies or real results,” says McDonald. “The momentum for change is growing and we need to keep it going. It’s time to get behind Dylan and the One Delta team to deliver safer roads and neighbourhoods, to expand our economy and build Delta now and for the future.”
Methodology: The poll was conducted by Yorkville Strategies between August 21st to August 31st, 2026 using interactive voice response (IVR) and online panels, surveying 400 Delta residents. A probability sample of this size carries a margin of error at +/- 4.9% 19 times out of 20. The poll was commissioned by One Delta.
