ENDORSEMENT LETTER: International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 502

To the Residents of Delta,

I am writing to express my enthusiastic endorsement of Dylan Kruger for Mayor of Delta, British Columbia in the upcoming municipal election on October 17, 2026.

As the municipality of Delta stands at a vital economic crossroads, Dylan represents the proactive, accountable, and collaborative leadership required to manage Delta's immense industrial growth while protecting the interests of local families.

Delta is proudly a port city, and our thriving longshore industry is the backbone of both our local economy and the national supply chain. The hard-working men and women of the International Longshore & Warehouse Union Local 502 keep Delta moving, and their jobs must be fiercely protected and expanded. With the massive Roberts Bank Terminal 2 (RBT2) project on the horizon, Delta needs a mayor who understands how to balance industrial expansion with community benefit, environmental safety, and fair compensation.

Throughout his time on City Council, Dylan has proven that he will not let Delta sit on the sidelines or be taken for granted by federal or regional entities. He has been a vocal champion for regional financial fairness, famously advocating that Delta deserves its fair share of port property land assessments rather than working off outdated valuations. He understands that as RBT2 moves forward, City Hall must proactively collaborate with all industry stakeholders to ensure the infrastructure impacts on Delta’s roads, dikes, and policing / security are fully funded and managed— without shifting the financial burden onto local taxpayers.

What sets Dylan apart is his practical, balanced approach to economic progress under his One Delta platform:

Protecting Local Jobs: Dylan recognizes the longshore industry as a premier job creator. His plan to establish Delta’s first dedicated economic development office will ensure local industries thrive alongside terminal expansions.
Fiscal Responsibility: He has committed to a firm policy of no new municipal taxes, levies, or fees, ensuring that Delta remains affordable for working-class families.
Regional Advocacy: As a Metro Vancouver director, he signed the Metro Vancouver Accountability Charter and successfully advanced motions to shrink the size of bloated regional boards, fighting to keep government lean and focused on core infrastructure, like flood resilience and port corridor management.

Dylan Kruger has the experience, the energy, and the collaborative mindset to work effectively with senior levels of government, the Port of Vancouver, and our longshore workforce. He will ensure that mega-projects like RBT2 serve as an economic engine for Delta rather than an unmitigated strain on local neighborhoods.
