Strengthening Community Engagement
City Hall works best when residents are truly heard. We will reinstate citizen-led committees so that meaningful, ongoing engagement shapes the decisions that affect people's lives. A council that reflects the lived experience of the community it serves makes better decisions, builds greater trust and delivers stronger results for everyone in Delta.
Enhancing Public Safety
As we plan for the future, we must ensure the services that protect our community continue to grow. That means supporting Delta’s first responders - our firefighters, police officers, paramedics - the people who show up every single day to keep our families and neighbourhoods safe. We will stand behind our first responders and ensure they have the staffing, equipment, and support they need to serve our city.
Fighting for Better Access to Healthcare
Delta residents, families, and seniors require access to reliable healthcare when they need it. But Delta has not received its fair share from the province. We are committed to fighting for a new urgent primary care centre for North Delta residents who are currently faced with driving to Surrey to receive care or Delta Hospital in Ladner, which has seen repeated Emergency Room closures.
Ensuring Fiscal Responsibility
Realizing Delta’s untapped economic potential requires dedicated focus. We will establish Delta's first economic development office to attract new businesses, support local entrepreneurs and grow the tax base in a way that eases the burden on residents. A stronger local economy means more jobs, more services, and more tax revenue to build first-class public amenities and a resilient community for everyone.
Delivering the Infrastructure to Move and Grow
Delta's neighbourhoods deserve infrastructure that keeps pace with a growing community. We are committed to improving Delta’s busiest roads and intersections to alleviate congestion across Delta. These are investments that improve our quality of life, and ensure every part of Delta receives the attention it deserves. Building the right infrastructure today means a stronger, more connected Delta for generations to come.
Standing Up for the Care Seniors Deserve
Seniors have given our community so much and it’s time to provide them with the supportive care they need to live their lives with compassion and dignity. The Province unfairly re-paced Ladner’s Beedie Long-Term Care Home project, including cancelling the construction contract, leaving our senior population without access to care in the community they’ve dedicated their livelihoods to. We will fight for the healthcare Delta’s residents, families and seniors deserve. When generations of families can stay together, and maintain their good health, our communities grow even stronger.
Expanding Recreation, Health and Fitness
Delta needs a plan that considers how residents can maintain active and healthy lives today, as well as for the next generation. Recreation infrastructure, particularly in North Delta, has not kept up with the pace of growth over the last 15 years. That is why we are committed to delivering a new, full-service recreation centre for North Delta. We will invest in new sports fields, pickleball courts, playgrounds, and community spaces across the city that bring people together and enable healthy living.
Creating Spaces that Bring Delta’s Generations Together
Creating spaces that are warm, friendly, offer entertainment and build up that sense of community pride are essential for keeping generations of Delta families together and strengthening the collective sense of belonging. That’s why we are committed to building on the successes of allowing responsible alcohol consumption in parks, establishing Delta’s pop-up parks and fan zones during major sporting events by revitalizing Paterson Park’s full potential as a destination events space. The success of the annual Barnside Harvest Festival showed what’s possible when we invest in spaces that bring people together and create community pride.
